In this second session of this cycle of open sessions focused on commodity risk from the Robeco Chair in Sustainability and Primary Resources, we will focus on the lithium.
Probably never has a metal been talked about as much in the last decade as lithium. Its price and availability in the markets turn the possibilities of its deficit into a global concern. A key element for the energy transition if we look at its main application, the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, at least for the medium-term time horizons that now concern us.
In this session we will analyze:
· Lithium from the market point of view
· Its extraction and processing characteristics
· Speeds in new production and its reserves
· Its growing geopolitical interest
