MAXAM Chair

The MAXAM Company-Chair of Explosives Technology, established on March 15, 2000, aims to facilitate knowledge, dissemination and training on the different facets of energetic materials: design, manufacturing, transportation and storage, handling, use, applications...

Its framework lines of action are:

  • Studies and research work on the technical possibilities of energetic materials.
  • Dissemination of knowledge: seminars, colloquiums, technical conferences.
  • Student training
  •  Internationally, annually the Chair receives students from other countries (Brazil, Russia, Bolivia, Angola, Bulgaria, Hungary, Ghana and France, among others) to complete the last year of their studies at ETSIME.
  • Practice, bringing students closer to the different facets of these products and their fields of application (mining, quarries, construction...).
  • Recognition, MAXAM Award End of Degree and End of Master's Degree.

The Chair constitutes an open, objective and fair forum for analysis, debate and research on topics related to energy materials.

The Coordinator of the Chair is Professor José Ángel Sanchidrián, Professor of the School of Mines and Energy of Madrid.
