In the first call of the ANECA AUDIT program in 2008, for the SAIC Design Certification, four UPM Centers participated, obtaining the corresponding Certification.

During it, the SAIC-UPM 0.0 was designed, a Generic System from which the UPM Centers would develop their own System, making the necessary adaptations to adapt it to the reality of their own management.

With a view to the Certification of the implementation of the systems by ANECA, the second review of the Generic System began, resulting in the SAIC-UPM 2.0.

For the second AUDIT call, 34 processes were eliminated from the initial Process Map, which were not considered necessary according to AUDIT guidelines. Thus, the second version of the UPM generic SAIC was composed of 38 SAIC-UPM-1.0 processes.

The current Internal Quality Assurance System of the ETSIME-UPM is the result of the review and improvement of the initial SAIC of the Center, whose design obtained positive certification in March 2010 by the ANECA, taking into account the modifications and new approach of the SGIC-UPM 2.0.
